Police personnel above the age of 55 have been advised to stay at home and those above the age of 52 and with a medical history have been advised to self-quarantine.

A senior Shiv Sena Corporator is from G South ward is undergoing treatment at Global Hospital in Parel after having been tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday. The corporator's spouse has been quarantined, a party leader said.
The corporator works in a ward with 650 positive cases and was in ICU for a day. She is now under observation.
A deputy commissioner of police was also tested positive and has been home quarantined. The IPS officer is asymptomatic.
“Several of his office staff had tested positive after which he was advised a test. He was tested positive but is asymptomatic and had been advised to home quarantine. His charge will temporarily be handed over the Deputy Commissioner of police Shahaji Umap, ” said a police official.
On the other hand six police officers and six constables have also tested positive for COVID-19. “We have quarantined forty-eight constables and six police officials from JJ Marg police station.” Said Sangramsinh Nishandar, deputy commissioner of police, Zone I, after the officers and constables were tested positive.
On Friday, three police officials from Nagpada police station and six from the Pydhonie police station were tested positive for the virus over the last few days.
With the rising number of cases and three deaths reported within the force, Mumbai police department has asked all police personnel older than the age of 55 to stay home. Additionally those above 52 with a medical history of diabetes, have also been asked to self-quarantine as a precautionary measure.
