With environment and NIMZ approvals being obtained, the project will take off in near future.

2020 will see the launch of Pharma City at Mucherla in the state of Telangana. The state Industries Minister K. T. Rama Rao said in an informal chat with media persons that state government had obtained the crucial environmental clearance and the approval from National Investment and Manufacturing Zone to launch the project.

While 10,000 acres was already acquired, efforts were on to acquire additional 2000 acres, the minister said. The Pharma City is dubbed as the world’s biggest pharma cluster. The work of setting the basic infrastructure like setting up sub-stations and laying of roads has already commenced. Towards making Pharma City a pollute-free project, Telangana government is in the process of building an effluent treatment plant.

Pharma City was a part of Telangana government’s bigger plan to give the growth story of the state a great push. Other development initiatives would include giving impetus to electronics, manufacturing, textiles and food processing.
