The software will not only classify whether the patient has any sign of pneumonia, it will be able to identify if he bears sings of COVID-19 or any other bacteria

When people from almost all walks of life is wrecking their nerves to swirl in a solution to get a headway to detect or diminish the Coronavirus, an IIT-Roorkee professor claims he has developed a software that can detect COVID-19 within five seconds using X-ray scan. IITs across India country are developing medical supplies to combat the coronavirus pandemic. Some of the IITs have been trying to develop ventilators and PPE kits for doctors amid the lockdown.

The professor took 40 days to develop the software and has filed a patent for the same. He has also approached the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) for a review.

Professor Kamal Jain of the institute’s civil engineering department claims that the software will not only reduce testing costs but will also reduce the risk of exposure to healthcare professionals. The medical institution has not verified this claim as yet.

Jain further claims that using his software the doctors can simply upload pictures of anyone’s X-ray and it will not only classify whether the patient has any sign of pneumonia, it will be able to identify if he bears sings of COVID-19 or any other bacteria and also measures the severity of the infection, and all in 5 seconds,
