HCQ dose must for COVID-19 health workers

Maharashtra Government-issued strict guidelines on the use of drugs to give hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) tablet to all health workers involved treating COVID-19 as a preventive medication.

Pradeep Vyas, State health secretary reveals in a recent circular that the medicine will be given to doctors, nurses and medical staff and all who are engaged in the treatment of COVID-19 patients and suspects, and the contacts of those testing positive for the disease.

This medicine will also be given to the members of the survey squad survey squads risking their lives in the Coronavirus zones and medical workers at hospitals will also be given the medicine.

UP govt lawfully to punish those misbehaving with frontline workers

The Uttar Pradesh government is mulling pass an ordinance with provisions for stringent punishment against those misbehaving with frontline COVID-19 workers flouting lockdown orders.

The ordinance called the 'Uttar Pradesh Epidemic Disease Control Ordinance, 2020' will also have provisions for acute punishment against those escaping quarantine centres, besides for those violating lockdown orders, the government sources said.

Centre mandates govt employees to download Aarogya Setu app 'immediately'

On Wednesday, Centre has mandated all Central government employees to download the Aarogya Setu app on their mobile phones "immediately". The staff are advised to leave for office only when the app indicates 'safe' or 'low risk' status, reports Indian Express.

Maharashtra sends 70 buses to bring students stuck in Kota

On Wednesday 70 State transport buses plied from Maharashtra to bring students stuck in Rajasthan’s Kota following Coronavirus-enforced lockdown. The vehicles left from Maharashtra's Dhule district around 10.30 am and will reach Rajasthan by Wednesday night, he said.

Reportedly, 20 students will be allowed in each bus and the vehicles will halt at two to three places for food breaks. There are quite a number of students in Kota to take coaching classes for competitive exams after class 12.

MP hospitals to follow AIIMS' protocol for COVID-19 care

Madhya​ Pradesh health departments on Wednesday reveals that it will follow the clinical protocol adopted by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) for the treatment of COVID-19 patients in the state. Hospitals and health centres dedicated to treating COVID-19 patients were directed to follow the clinical protocol issued by New Delhi's AIIMS on 21 April, an official from the public relations department said. However, the guidelines will be updated from time to time in keeping with the epidemiological trends of the country, the official said. The protocol, adequate beverages, a balanced diet, recommended doses of vitamins A, D, C, and zinc would be given to patients admitted to COVID-19 centres and hospitals.
