Odisha has conducted more than 56 lakh sample tests and has suffered a loss of 1671 lives due to covid-19, so far.

In Odisha, covid-19 recovery has further increased to 3,07,374. While 648 patients recovered yesterday, 642 new infections increased the cumulative tally to 3,15,271.

The state has conducted more than 56 lakh sample tests and has suffered a loss of 1671 lives due to covid-19, so far.

The sustained decline in positive cases coupled with the steady deflation inactive cases which have gone down below 7 thousand points to successful covid-19 management in the state.

While a number of factors could be behind the continuous contraction of covid-19, one of these could be the strict crowd-cutting measures the state government has been enforcing across the state.

In yet another similar exercise, the government has banned mass congregations at river banks and water bodies on the occasion of the upcoming Kartik Purnima later this month. Lakhs of devotees congregate on river banks on this holy occasion to float miniature paper boats as a mark of religious gesture.

The state has already put a ban on the world-famous Baliyatra of Cuttack and similar festivals elsewhere which coincides with Kartik Purnima as a measure of covid control.
