Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development, Anastasia Rakova, announced this groundbreaking development, stating, "Moscow is now one of the global leaders in the implementation of artificial intelligence services in healthcare. We are proud to offer our hub as a testing ground for AI systems across the entire Eurasian Economic Union."

The Center for Diagnostics and Telemedicine, under the Moscow Health Department, has been granted a right to conduct clinical and technical assessments of medical artificial intelligence. By obtaining permission to use their developments across the Russian Federation, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan, developers are empowered to speed up the integration of new medical technologies into practice.

The Scientific and Practical Center boasts unique expertise in applying neural networks to large-scale radiation studies, having overseen the biggest undertaking in healthcare computer vision technology implementation. Over a span of four years, the Center successfully executed more than ten experiments on this front.

In order to obtain state registration, all medical devices, including artificial intelligence systems that are currently being integrated into medical practice, are required to undergo technical and clinical trials prior to any practical application.

Yury Vasiliev, Senior Consultant for Radiology of Moscow Health Department, CEO of the Center for Diagnostics and Telemedicine, commented on this significant development: "Our Center received permission to conduct clinical trials in 2020. Last year, we expanded our reach to the EAEU market, obtaining the capability to conduct clinical trials of AI systems. We now offer comprehensive testing services to AI developers seeking registration certificates for both Russian and EAEU markets."

The Center for Diagnostics and Telemedicine is a pioneer in the integration of artificial intelligence in radiology. Over the past four years, the Center has processed more than 10.5 million studies, marking a significant milestone in the healthcare sector's adoption of computer vision technologies.

For over a decade, Moscow has been at the forefront of digitizing its healthcare system, leveraging smart technologies to streamline diagnosis and treatment processes, ultimately raising the standard of healthcare for its residents. AI is employed in daily medical practice, offering preliminary diagnoses and detecting pathologies in medical images. This year, Moscow introduced a special rate for the analysis of mammography studies using AI services, a first in the country.
