Prime Minister pays tributes to scientists on the National Technology Day

Says the nuclear tests then were possible only thanks to robust political leadership

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today paid tributes to all or any the scientists within the country who are using science and technology to bring a positive difference within the lives of others.

 Shri Modi was tweeting on the occasion of National Technology Day.

“On National Technology Day, our nation salutes all those that are leveraging technology to bring a positive difference within the lives of others. We remember the exceptional achievement of our scientists today in 1998. it had been a landmark moment in India’s history”, he said.

Referring to the Pokhran Tests which happened on the 11th of May 1998, Prime Minister said the nuclear tests then were possible only thanks to robust political leadership. Prime Minister also shared his quote on the tests, during his one among the MannKiBaat programme.

“The tests in Pokhran in 1998 also showed the difference a robust political leadership can make. Here is what I had said about Pokhran, India’s scientists, and Atal Ji’s remarkable leadership during one among the #MannKiBaat programmes,” he said.

Shri Modi further tweeted, “Today, technology helps many within the efforts to form the planet free from COVID-19. I salute all those at the forefront of research and innovation on ways to defeat Coronavirus. May we keep harnessing technology, so as to make a healthier and better planet”.

Earlier, the Indian Air Force (IAF) is performing a nationwide activity today, on May 3, to precise their gratitude towards all the corona heroes fighting within the frontline during this war against COVID-19. The IAF helicopters are showering flowers at hospitals across 23 locations within the country. aside from that, IAF’s fighter jets also are completing fly-pasts across different cities.

From Mumbai to Delhi to Guwahati to Leh, the defense force’s helicopters are flying over various places to offer the aerial salutes. And, several videos and pictures of this spectacular and heartfelt gesture have now made their way onto Twitter. Tweeple are now sharing emotional to appreciative reactions using various hashtags – such a lot in order that the hashtag #Airwarriors also started trending on the micro-blogging site.
