18 persons infected with the virus are asymptomatic; moved from institutional quarantine to COVID care centre

In the highest single-day spike of novel coronavirus cases in Arunachal Pradesh, 18 people were tested positive for the virus infection on Monday, a senior government official had reportedly said.
With this, the present active case count within the state has risen to 21.
The fresh cases include a 26-year-old student who had returned to the State from Chennai availing the Shramik Special train on May 23.
Another student who had returned from Delhi and 16 others who reached here from Haryana taking Shramik Special train also tested positive for COVID-19, Health Secretary P Parthiban reportedly shared.
All the 18 persons infected with the virus are asymptomatic. They are moved from institutional quarantine to COVID care centre immediately after their test results were found to be positive.

In an earlier tweet on Monday, Chief Minister Pema Khandu had said, "A new Positive asymptomatic case has been detected & shifted from Quarantine facility to COVID Care Centre, his condition is normal. The active positive now's 4." Taking to Twitter later within the day, the chief minister said, "Rise in Positive #Covid19, 15 more positive cases detected, all are in quarantine facilities being shifted to COVID Care Centre. Total Positive Active as of now's 19."

Among the persons who tested positive on Monday, 16 are workers who hail from Changlang district, while one may be a student from Tawang and another student is from Namsai, State Surveillance Officer (Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme) Dr L Jampa said in an official statement he issued.
The State''s first patient has recovered and was discharged from a hospital on April 16.
This second wave of Coronavirus has marred the State with the spike in numbers of COVID-19 patients. The State had prematurely declared it to be Coronavirus free in mid-April after the lone COVID-19 patient in Arunachal Pradesh was tested negative for the second time.

That man was from Medo village in Lohit district had tested positive on April 1 and April 7 last after two tests conducted with a decrease in viral load.
However, his third test was done on April 14 when it had been found negative, state Health Secretary P Prathiban had reportedly said.
