AI-based diagnostics startup Qure.ai has gained $40 million (Rs 304.5 crores) in its venture round led by Novo Holdings and HealthQuad. Qure.ai’s cancer detection solution is currently available in 50+ countries at around 500 sites. They have a strong patient base of over 4 million patients.

Founded by Prashant Warier and Dr Pooja Rao, the AI-led startup aims to improve imaging outcomes via the use of machine-supported tools. This gives them the edge of interpreting medical images in less than a minute of time.

Their solution qXR can segregate abnormal scans from normal and interpret abnormalities in the lungs, pleura, mediastinum, bones, diaphragm and heart. qER can detect abnormalities from brain CT scans. POqUS facilitates enhanced care for cardiovascular diseases by leveraging AI for early detection, characterization and monitoring of atherosclerosis.

The latest funds will be used to expand to international geographies, especially the US and European markets. The startup was incubated by Fractal Analytics and has received the approval of WHO. They have also partnered with organisations like AstraZeneca.

Last month, they had received a grant of £3.2 million from the UK's Small Business Research Initiative or SBRI Healthcare. The grant was provided along with NHS Cancer Programme and Accelerated Access Collaborative. In 2020, they had raised $16 million in a venture round led by Sequoia Capital India.
