Dmitry Peskov told a news agency that he was last in direct contact with Russian President Vladimir Putin "over a month ago."

Russian President Vladimir Putin's representative Dmitry Peskov on Tuesday said he tried positive for the coronavirus and was getting treatment in a medical clinic, news organizations detailed.

"I am sick. I'm being dealt with," Peskov was cited as saying by Russian news offices TASS and Interfax, which indicated he had COVID-19.

Dmitry Peskov is the fourth senior government authority to have become sick, after Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Culture Minister Olga Lyubimova, and Construction Minister Vladimir Yakushev said they tried positive for the coronavirus.

None were accounted for to be in a genuine condition, with just Mishustin in the emergency clinic who was all the while holding a few gatherings by video connect.

Peskov revealed to the TASS news organization that he was toward the end in direct contact with Putin "longer than a month prior."

The Russian head has been remaining at his living arrangement outside Moscow for half a month and is doing gatherings and addresses using video connect.

Peskov, 52, has filled in as Putin's representative since 2000. He has not held his typical day by day phone briefings with correspondents since May 6.

Putin on Monday declared that a severe national lockdown would be facilitated beginning Tuesday, even though the nation's pace of new contaminations does not indicate easing back.

Russia announced 10,899 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday and an aggregate of 232,243 contaminations. The nation has the world's second most noteworthy number of contaminations, as indicated by an AFP count.
