50% reservation for NEET qualified government doctors

In Tamil Nadu, the new Covid-19 infections were 2257, against the recovery of 2308 patients yesterday. The active caseload has dropped to 18,825. Meanwhile, the State Medical Education Directorate is planning to release the rank list of applicants for admission to MBBS and BDS courses next Monday.

More than 32-thousand students have registered their applications for undergraduate medical counselling so far and the online applications are being accepted till the 12th. The rank list is scheduled to be released on the 16th, which will be followed by counselling and allotment of seats.

Meanwhile, the state government has issued orders for providing fifty percent reservation for NEET-qualified government doctors in post graduate medical admission including in PG super-specialty courses within the state quota of the PG seats.

The doctors getting admission under the in-service quota after completing the courses will have to execute a bond assuring to serve the government hospitals till their retirement.
