The third evacuation flight under the Vande Bharat Mission of government of India left for Mumbai from Dhaka in the afternoon on Monday. The flight carried 104 Indian nationals stranded in Bangladesh due to Corona pandemic.

Earlier, two other flights on 8th and 9th May have evacuated Indian citizens from Bangladesh to India.

The first flight on Friday carried 168 medical students from Bangladesh to Srinagar.

The second flight carried 129 Indian citizens to Delhi on Saturday.
The passengers of the flight to Mumbai expressed happiness at the evacuation. They also thanked the government of India and the High Commission of India in Bangladesh for extending them all help during the process of evacuation from Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, Indian Railways have always been at the forefront of serving the nation. DD News correspondent spoke to Railway Board Chairman, Vinod Kumar Yadav on the efforts made by railways to carry out the transportation of migrant workers and essential goods across the nation during the current pandemic.

Mr. Yadav said that lockdown period is challenging for railways but our workers worked round the clock and provided all the essential services to the nation. On the issue of transportation of migrant labourers, he said that from may 1st till today, railways has run 350 trains and more than 4 lakh labourers have been shifted to their native places:

He also spoke about ramping up the train services in coming times. He said that railways has gradually started its factories and other projects with all necessary precautions. Mr. Yadav said that railways has dedicated 17 hospitals for treatement of coronavirus patients in coordibation with state govt.
