Ultrasonography is a blessing to motherhood experience

Ultrasound is a reliable method for establishing the length of pregnancy and in this way, it can improve obstetric care. Some people claim it to be illegal, which is actually a myth.

Ultrasonography is a process that examines inside organs and tissues using high-energy sound waves. On a computer screen, the echoes created by the sound waves create images of the tissues and organs. Using ultrasound for both therapeutic and diagnostic purposes is known as ultrasonography in medicine.

An ultrasonic scan creates an image of a person's internal body structures using high-frequency sound waves. Ultrasound is frequently used by medical professionals to examine a developing fetus (unborn child), a person's abdominal and pelvic organs, muscles, tendons, heart, and blood vessels.

Ultrasound is used for various reasons, here are some of them:

  • The uterus and ovaries can be seen throughout pregnancy, and the health of the unborn child is monitored.
  • Identify the gallbladder condition
  • Assess the blood flow
  • For a biopsy or tumor treatment, guide the needle
  • Look at the breast lump
  • Examine the thyroid
  • Discover prostate and genital issues

Eight hours before the sonography, you must go without food or liquids but it's ok to drink water and take medication. It may be challenging for the technician to capture a clear image of the structures in your abdomen if you have food or liquids in your stomach (and urine in your bladder).

Ultrasound is safe for you and your baby when done by your healthcare provider. Because ultrasound uses sound waves instead of radiation, it's safer than X-rays. Providers have used ultrasound for more than 30 years, and they have not found any dangerous risks. In India, ultrasound testing is legal. It is commonly employed. Due to the high rate of female foeticide, only learning the fetus' gender is forbidden. But the typical man believes that ultrasound testing is prohibited.
