Till now 3,44,717 testings have been done in the state and 3,828 are active cases

Uttar Pradesh recorded its highest single day jump of 502 COVID-19 cases yesterday, taking the tally of total cases till date to 9,733 in state. During the last 24 hours, 12 more people succumbed to the disease. Yesterday was also the day when highest number of testing were done in state.

Our correspondent reports that as per the data from State Health Department maximum 57 cases were reported from Kanpur followed by 51 from Noida and 41 from Jaunpur. Twelve casualties were reported from Agra, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Jhansi, Auraiya, Chandauli, Varanasi, Gorakhpur and Jalaun districts. Till date, 257 people have lost their lives due to the virus in state.

Yesterday, 12,589 samples were tested in state which is the highest number of tests in a day. As of now, 3,44,717 testings have been done in the state and 3,828 are active cases. A total of 5,648 patients were discharged following recovery.

Meanwhile, During the ongoing Lockdown in Uttar Pradesh, many people who were suffering from serious ailments faced difficult situation since movement was restricted and sometimes they were not able to reach to medical shops due to various reasons. At this juncture, Central and State Governments came forward for the help of such persons.

Our correspondent reports that Prime Minister’s Office helped a cancer patient in Varanasi. Ashish Arun , a resident of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's constituency Varanasi, who is a cancer and kidney patient faced difficulty in getting his medicines during lockdown and his life was in danger. Finally PMO came to his rescue. There are thousands like Ashish who got timely redressal of their grievances and thanking government for the prompt reply.

To handle this situation more efficiently, Uttar Pradesh government will change its strategy in coming days to deal with the growing number of COVID-19 cases in the state.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that we are already and monitoring the situation of corona spread in the state keenly and in future we will change our strategy to stop the spread of the deadly virus further. Recently there is spurt in the COVID-19 cases in the state and from the last 15 days everyday around 200 to 300 new cases are being found.

The Chief Minister said that we were prepared for the situation and we knew that a lot of cases will come along with migrant workers. Due to the rising cases we had to close the borders with Delhi in Noida and Ghaziabad and these cases were found in some media houses also. We have made arrangements of all kinds and will change the strategy of curbing the spread accordingly.

Earlier most cases in the state were from western part and in the districts close to Delhi but now the virus has spread to all 75 districts and many cases are being found in eastern part also. Chief Minister said that more than one lakh medical teams are involved in screening work and that is also helping in early detection of the virus.
