What is the Monkeypox virus?

Monkeypox is a contagious disease. It can spread to another person by touching an infected person, coming in contact with him, sneezing, coughing, feces, any of his objects, etc. Alarm bells have been running in South Asia after a case of monkeypox came to light in Singapore. On 9 May Singapore's Ministry of Health told the media that a Nigerian national was suffering from virus disease. monkeypox is very similar to smallpox. It spreads mainly through rodents and primates. The disease belongs to the Poxviridae family of viruses.

According to a report, a Nigerian man had eaten bushmeat (wild animal meat) before coming to Singapore. The disease came to be known as monkeypox after it was first discovered in monkeys in 1958. Where humans regularly come into contact with animals that carry the virus, however, there has been no evidence of person-to-person transmission.

Apart from this, red-colored skin falls on the body, which over time takes the form of a wound. The flashes of red appear in different stages and are severely exposed at this stage.

The main cause of infection with Monkeypox virus

As we have given you information related to this virus and disease, it is also very important for you to know its causes and symptoms because it is also necessary to treat it in time, otherwise, you may have to face the side effects caused by it. Monkeypox does not spread easily between two people.

This disease occurs when a person immediately comes in contact with an animal, a human virus-infected with this virus, or an object that has come in contact with the virus. Apart from this, it can also enter the body through the respiratory tract and nose, eyes, and mouth. The main reasons for the occurrence of this disease can be the following –

  • By using the used towel bedsheet etc. of the affected person, this virus can reach another person and this disease can occur.
  • This disease spreads immediately even by coming in direct contact with a person affected by monkeypox disease.
  • Sneezing or coughing when near a person suffering from monkeypox disease increases the chances of spreading this infection.

What are the treatments for the Monkeypox virus?

You will be both sad and surprised to know that there is no treatment available for this dangerous disease yet. However, the use of some antivirus drugs is being investigated on monkeypox.
