5 Simple exercises to get rid of double chin

A double chin occurs mainly because of excess fat present in the body. To get rid of a double chin, you need to lose extra weight by following a healthy eating habit, or else can try these simple facial exercises

Double chin, medically known as submental fat is common and it occurs because of fat getting accumulated under the chin. Double chin is often because of being overweight. Hence losing weight might help to get rid of the double chin. To shed extra kilos, regular exercise and a healthy diet may help you to achieve your desired results.

Healthy eating tips

Include three servings of the meal and three servings of snacks in your daily meal with portion control. Try to include more fresh vegetables and fruits.

Swap all refined food products with whole-grain foods like quinoa, barley, millets, cereals.

Include lean protein sources in your food like eggs, fish.

Use healthy fats such as olive oil, sunflower oil, soy oil, nuts.

Take low-fat milk and milk products.

Restricts sugary products, processed foods, junk foods, oily deep-fried foods.

Exercises for double chin

X-O Exercise

Keep your head still. Spell X-O clearly and repeatedly.  Perform the exercise for at least 5 mins with 15 seconds of pause in between if required.

Fish face

Suck your cheeks in and hold it for 15 to 20 seconds.  Repeat this five to six times. 

Jaw stretch

Tilt your head backward and stare at the ceiling. Push your lower jaw down so that you feel the strain on your jaw muscles. Hold the position for 10 seconds.  Relax, repeat it 10 times.

Sky kiss

Lift your face up and look towards the sky.  Make your lips like you are attempting to kiss the sky.  You will sense a strong pull or tension around your neck.  Hold this position for 5-8 seconds and release gently.  Repeat 10 times daily.

Tongue exercise 

Look straight and stretch your tongue out completely. Lift tongue upwards, pointing towards the nose. Hold for 15 seconds and relax. Repeat it 5 times.
