In Karnataka, Covid 19 situation is improving as recoveries far exceed the new cases.

In Karnataka, Covid 19 situation is improving as recoveries far exceed the new cases. Yesterday, 8521 people were discharged after recovery as compared to 3589 fresh cases. The state conducted 1,03,281 Covid tests, out of which 79,369 were RT-PCR tests.

There is a steady decline in positivity rate and case fatality rate in the state. With as many as 17 districts reporting zero deaths yesterday, the Case Fatality Rate has come down to 1.36 percent. The Positivity rate yesterday was 3.47 percent.

Although Bengaluru urban district contributes 34.5 percent of the total deaths in the state, its Fatality rate stands at 1.1 percent. The Active cases in the state stand at 59,499, including 935 in the ICU. There were 49 deaths reported yesterday due to Covid.

Most of the deaths were those above the age of 50 with most of them having Severe Acute Respiratory illness or Influenza like illness. The health department says that 54,464 people were home quarantined in the past one week.
