Do and Dont’s for Typhoid

Treatment of typhoid is very important. Also, if you have typhoid, your diet should also be healthy. It is also important to know what to eat and what not to eat in Typhoid.

What is Typhoid?

Typhoid fever is caused by Salmonella typhi (S.Typhi) bacteria. Typhoid mainly causes high fever. Typhoid bacteria enter the body through consumption of contaminated water, contaminated food, contaminated beverages, which causes typhoid. Once Salmonella typhi enters the stomach, it remains in the intestines for one to three weeks. From here it also goes to many parts of the body and starts affecting immunity too. 

Symptoms of Typhoid

High fever Shivering with fever Stomach ache Fatigue and headache Diarrhea and constipation problem Cold and chilliness  Nausea and vomiting

Dos and Don'ts of Typhoid

To reduce the symptoms of typhoid, you should eat foods rich in vitamins like vitamins A, B, C. It helps in quick recovery from typhoid. Eat plenty of citrus fruits like lemon, seasonal fruits, and  oranges

Include protein, carbohydrate-rich foods in your diet. The body becomes weak due to typhoid. There is a lack of energy in the body. Gradually the weight also starts decreasing. For protein, carbohydrates, dry fruits, avocados, dates, apricots, etc. must be consumed.

Do not eat too much oily and spicy food. Have a good meal. Digestive power is affected by the consumption of things containing more oil and spices. The digestive system is also affected by this. The power of the stomach is weak.

Do not consume too many canned drinks, juices, etc. Yes, if you have typhoid, drink only clean and pure water at home. When you take medicine when you have a fever, there is rapid sweating. So keep the body hydrated. It also gives energy to the body.

Eat only those food which is digestible and gets digested quickly. Typhoid affects the digestive system quickly, making it difficult to digest food. Eat only those foods which are easily digested. For this, you drink a soup made from vegetables. Eat boiled eggs. Eat custard made from fruits. Eat dal or roti. 

Ensure you take all precautions and follow a healthy diet during typhoid
