The number of people suffering from mental disorders has increased during the corona period. According to the National Council on Aging, one out of every four individuals faces mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, and psychosis each year.

Exercise - One can also take care of their mental health through physical activity. Exercise not only provides physical benefits but also works to reduce stress hormones by improving your happy mood.

Outing – Always being at home, a person starts feeling more lethargic and sicker. This has a direct effect on the mind which makes you mentally unwell. Go for a walk, this will increase your energy level and will make you feel fresh.

Get enough sleep - According to the American Psychological Association, good quality sleep can benefit a happy, healthy, long and secure life. People with insomnia are at increased risk of depression and other chronic diseases.

Give better nutrition to the brain - Include whole grains, fruits and vegetables, proteins, and healthy fats in your diet. A healthy balanced diet maintains good brain health and also reduces the risk of depression and psychosis.

Connect with other people - Good relationships are important for your mental wellbeing. They can help you to build a sense of belonging and self-worth, give you an opportunity to share positive experiences and provide emotional support and allow you to support others.

Learn new skills - Research shows that learning new skills can also improve your mental wellbeing by boosting self-confidence and raising self-esteem, helping you to build a sense of purpose, and helping you to connect with others. Even if you feel like you do not have enough time, or you may not need to learn new things, there are lots of different ways to bring learning into your life.

Take Small Steps: If you try to do everything at once, you will probably get nowhere. Set goals, and then draw that dotted line from point A to B to C. Stop and rest along the way. You will thank yourself for it.
