In a recent development, the Institute of Medical Science, Banaras Hindu University (IMS BHU), has taken a giant leap in cardiac care by introducing two advanced machines—Rota Pro and IVUS Intravascular Ultrasound. This move makes IMS BHU the first institute in Uttar Pradesh to provide state-of-the-art facilities for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac patients using cutting-edge technology.

State-of-the-Art Technology: The newly installed machines, Rota Pro and IVUS Intravascular Ultrasound, are at the forefront of modern medical technology. These instruments enable ultrasound imaging inside the arteries, allowing for the detection and removal of even the smallest blockages. With this advanced equipment, the cardiology department at IMS BHU aims to provide comprehensive and top-notch treatment for cardiac diseases, all under one roof.

During the inauguration ceremony at the Cath Lab, Prof SN Shankhwar, the director of IMS-BHU, expressed his enthusiasm about the new facility. He emphasized that the addition of these machines would ensure that patients receive the best possible treatment for cardiac diseases, reinforcing IMS BHU's commitment to advancing healthcare.

Diagnostic Precision: Prof Om Shankar, the head of the cardiology department, highlighted the significance of the newly installed machines. These technologies are poised to revolutionize the diagnostic process, enabling the identification and clearance of even the minutest blockages in the arteries. With an average of 20 to 25 patients undergoing angiography and angioplasty daily, the cardiology department is now equipped to handle cases that were previously challenging to diagnose.

Enhancing Patient Care: Prof Shankar revealed that the department typically received three to four patients daily for whom the diagnosis of arterial blockages was elusive. In such cases, patients were often referred to medical institutes in Delhi and Mumbai for bypass surgery. However, with the introduction of Rota Pro and IVUS Intravascular Ultrasound, IMS BHU aims to provide precise information about arterial blockages. The ultrasound capabilities of these machines enable physicians to visualize the inside of arteries and identify blocked paths accurately.

Furthermore, the technology facilitates the opening of clogged arteries, enhancing the overall treatment process.
Prof Shankar proudly declared IMS BHU as the first medical institute in Uttar Pradesh to boast a world-class facility for the treatment of heart patients. This achievement positions IMS BHU as a leader in cardiac care, eliminating the need for patients to travel to larger cities for specialized treatments. The department envisions ordering more cutting-edge machines in the future, ensuring that patients receive modern facilities at minimal expenses, a testament to IMS BHU's commitment to accessible and advanced healthcare.

The introduction of Rota Pro and IVUS Intravascular Ultrasound at IMS BHU marks a significant milestone in cardiac care. With a commitment to providing the best possible treatment for heart patients, IMS BHU leads the way in Uttar Pradesh, setting a new standard for medical institutes. The advanced technology promises to enhance diagnostic precision, expand treatment capabilities, and bring world-class healthcare to the doorstep of patients, reinforcing IMS BHU's dedication to revolutionizing healthcare in the region.
