Delhi government has started the laudable effort of online registration of migrant workers for train tickets

The process of online registration has been started by the Delhi government to take back the migrant laborers and people trapped in Delhi. By clicking on the link https://epass.jantasamvad.org/train/passenger/, migrant laborers and others trapped in Delhi will be able to register and go to their states by train.

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia tweeted and shared this link and said that to get home on these trains, first registration is necessary. No one will be allowed to board the train without registration.

He informed that 35,000 passengers have been sent by the Delhi Government by labor special train till yesterday evening to their home states. On Sunday too, eight trains carrying around 12000 passengers left.
At the same time, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that ''we have the responsibility of migrant laborers living in Delhi. If they want to stay in Delhi then they will take full care of them and if they want to return to their village then a train has been arranged for them. We will not leave them destitute under any circumstances''

It is known that the Delhi government has sent trains to Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu so far. Till now the Delhi government was sending migrant laborers or other people living on the basis of the shelter home, night shelters, or other government arrangements to their states through Shramik Special Train. But now the Delhi government has also started online registration.

The Delhi government has asked the officials to ensure that migrant laborers do not walk on roads or railway tracks. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has asked to take necessary steps to end the problems faced by the migrant laborers during the lockdown. An order said that if migrant workers are found to be walking on the road or railway track, they should be taken to the nearest shelter home immediately, also food and drinks should be arranged for them till they go to their homes by special trains or buses that may be arranged.

In the order issued on the migrant laborers by Chief Secretary Vijay Dev, the officers have been asked to speed up the work of sending them home by coordinating with the Railways. Dev on Friday asked nodal officer PK Gupta and other senior officials to ensure that migrants do not walk on roads or rail tracks. He said in the order issued on Friday and that there should be proper cooperation with the railways to run labor-specific trains so that the work of repatriating the trapped workers can be expedited. The order stated that all labor trains should be accepted without interruption. Since last week, such incidents are coming to the fore, when the migrant laborers returning home are falling prey to fatal accidents.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal called for immediate steps to solve the difficulties of migrant workers during the lockdown. He said that he is deeply saddened by the death of the workers in the accident in Auraiya. Kejriwal tweeted that I am deeply distressed by the loss of life in the Auraiya accident. The tragedy of migrant workers is getting worse. Something needs to be done immediately.
