Rajasthan cuts down the COVID-19 test charges for private laboratories in the State to Rs 2,200

Uttar Pradesh recorded 817 fresh Coronavirus cases--the highest single-day spike in the last 24 hours. Noida district alone claims 151 fresh cases. With this, the total count of cases in Noida has surged to 711.
According to the newest information, 19 people succumbed to the disease in Uttar Pradesh on Friday, taking the toll to 507 within the state.
As of now, 9,995 people are discharged from various hospitals.
According to the government, currently, there are 6,092 active Covid-19 cases in UP.
In the meantime, Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot cuts down the COVID-19 test charges for private laboratories within the State to Rs 2,200 from Rs 3,500 to Rs 4,500 that is charged presently.
Moreover, the government has fixed maximum charges per bed at Rs 2,000 and for bed with ventilators at Rs 4,000.
Taking note of reports about high fees being charged for COVID testing in Delhi, Ashok Gehlot said that he wouldn't tolerate such exploitation in Rajasthan.
Gehlot ordered health department officials to make sure that non-public hospitals don't charge quite these rates and told them to initiate action against them under various sections of law including that of Epidemic Ordinance just in case of violation.
Health officials are expected to tally the further expenses like the PPE kit for private hospitals amid reports that private hospitals are charging in lakhs for these along with few lakhs for COVID packages in Delhi.
In Rajasthan, most of the coronavirus cases are treated free of charge in government hospitals.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today launched a huge rural structure scheme, Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyaan, in six states. He said, this Abhiyan will provide livelihood opportunities to the migrant workers and can help within the development of rural areas by creating local infrastructure.

Mr. Modi said the govt is making every effort so that people don't need to take loans from anyone while living in the villages during this Corona pandemic crisis. He said, the self-reliant India campaign-Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan started with the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana and in a couple of weeks, about 1.75 lakh crore rupees were spent on the scheme. He said free ration and pulses are provided to 80 crore poor people in three months. Mr. Modi said, quite 10 thousand crore rupees are transferred to 20 crores women-Jan Dhan’s accounts. He said this was made possible thanks to the infrastructure created within the past years for the graceful transfer of cash directly within the accounts of the poor people. He said, for independent India, independent farmers are equally important and by keeping this in mind, the govt has abolished several discriminatory laws within the past few days. He said, now farmers can sell their produce to anyone and anywhere with none hurdle and it'll empower them.

Prime Minister launched the campaign through remote from Telihar village in Khagaria District of Bihar in presence of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar alongside other Chief Ministers and Union Rural Development Minister.
