Sore throat – Cough, sore throat and respiratory problems are common problems that occur in winters. Drinking warm lemon water with honey or with tea is the best way to treat a sore throat. A concoction made of honey, lemon juice, cinnamon in a glass of warm water can also shield you against flu and other issues.

The antibacterial and antioxidants property of honey helps to fight against infections that are caused by bacteria, viruses, & fungi. Consuming honey daily every morning is proved to be an excellent cleansing toner and can boost immunity in children.

Dandruff – Honey is a perfect home remedy for dandruff. To treat dandruff, one can apply diluted honey with 10% of warm water to the scalp at least for 3 hours. After keeping it for 3 hours wash your hair with shampoo. This will give relief from itchy scalp & dandruff.

Dry and flaky lips – Honey provides the best protection against flaky, dry, chapped lips in winters. Anti-inflammatory properties of honey reduce swelling, bleeding, and pain caused by cracked lips. Apply some honey on your lips before going to bed. Wash it off with water in the morning. Honey locks moisture in skin cells helps to prevent dryness of lips and makes them soft and supple.

Natural sleeping aid – If you have trouble sleeping, then honey is of great use. Just add 1 teaspoon honey to the glass of warm milk and drink it before going to bed. From ancient times this has been a useful homemade remedy that can help you get good sleep.  

Keep weight in check – Most people tend to over eat and gain extra kilos this season. Drinking a glass of warm water with honey, first thing in the morning can help you to keep your weight in check. This will prevent you from unhealthy bingeing.
