All you need to know about BF7. COVID infection

Is covid over? Let us give you some insights on the BF7. COVID infection has hit India after China.

Amidst global concern about the covid infection which has been on the high rise in China these days, there are four cases have been detected COVID positive. So far, it has been reported as BF7. COVID infection has spread in some states in India which shows 4 cases to be positive. These states are noted as Gujarat and Odisha. 

BF7. COVID infection positive in Odisha and Gujarat 

In Odisha, the Omicron BF7. COVID infection was detected positive in a sample testing on September 30, 2022. At the time of testing, it was neither a VOC nor a variant of concern nor VOI or a variant of interest. It has been noted that no other sample has been detected in any other states than Gujarat and Odisha. The Odisha Health and Family Welfare department has also confirmed a total 4 number of cases as positive for BF7. COVID infection. 

What are the symptoms associated with this variant, BF7 COVID infection?

The symptoms associated with this variant, BF7. COVID infections are similar to those of other variants in the past. There is no trademark symptom that has come into the light to differentiate BF7. COVID infection from other variants of COVID. 

BF7. COVID infection variant causes common symptoms which may be associated with the following- 

  • Fever 
  • Cough 
  • Sore throat 
  • Runny nose 
  • Fatigue 
  • Mild flu 
  • Bodyache 
  • Muscle ache 
  • Weakness 
  • Breathlessness 
  • Coughing 
  • Tiredness 
  • Low oxygen levels

Concern about the spread of BF7. COVID infection

Many people are scared about the outbreak of the 4th wave of coronavirus. Yes, that's true! With the past experience in different waves and phases of the corona, many countries including India have faced major setbacks. This is definitely a future cause of concern. 

Are we protected with the COVID vaccine against BF7 COVID infection?

This is a matter which is very important to prevent the spread of BF7. COVID infection. Most likely we should not be much concerned as the Indian population has already gained herd immunity against the prevalent virus. However, we need to be cautious as these viral strains frequently mutate, rendering previous immunity less protective. 

Who are at high risk of getting BF7 COVID infection?

People in extreme age - infants and elderly age groups are at higher risk of BF7. COVID infection. Moreover, people with pre-existing conditions or comorbidities, or long-term medications need to be extra careful and take steps to protect their immunity.
