China's  on much hyped drug on Alzheimer's disease has hit the market raising hopes of millions in China and abroad.Extracted from brown algae this is touted to be first drug for treating brain disorders.Named  availability from as GV-971 China domestic market saw the drug available from Sunday onwards.

Alzheimers disease which afflicts only the elderly destroys all brain function over period of time and there are 50 million patients worldwide.Right now it is priced as $5,700 for yearly quota for a patient which is seen as detterent to it's usage.

Shanghai Green Valley Pharmaceuticals makers of the drug announced they will invest 3 billion for further research including clilical research to better the present drug.

The international trials may take time till 2024 after which it would be availbale globally.
