North Carolina-based startup Thread announced the purchase of voice-powered research company inVibe for an undisclosed sum. Thread is a decentralized clinical research tech whereas inVibe uses machine learning algorithms and human analysis to capture data and gain insights. Thread has supported over 100 decentralized studies.
The venture provides support to reduce study launch timelines, reduce study budgets with Virtual Visits and bring studies from the clinic to patients’ homes. It is planning on growing and expanding further as more and more pharmaceutical companies and life science organizations get involved with them.
With this acquisition, Thread users will be able to capture patient and provider voices and use voice in recruitment services. InVibe specializes in voice technology and voice research solutions that help healthcare organizations.
In November 2021, Thread acquired a research consultancy focused on clinical outcome assessments and participant-focused trial design named Modus Outcomes. The details of this deal too were undisclosed.
In 2019, Water Street and JLL Partners invested in and acquired Thread to expand and develop Thread's presence on a global scale. Thread is expanding its global footprint to over 40 countries along with adding new features to its services, like providing 24x7 multilingual support to its customers.
