Total number of cases touches 30 in India
With a man in Ghaziabad being tested positive for Covid 19 ,total toll in India rises to 30.The patient from Ghaziabad had recent travel history to Iran said the authorities.Union health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan said in parliament that the scale of the intervention for containing the virus was increase with 28,529 people under monitoring.He also highlighted that one major concern was students and others stuck at Tehran and Qom,the epicenters of the infection in Iran.While external affairs ministry said that a medical team has took off for Iran to work with Iranian authorities on safe passage of the Indians stranded.
Kolkata Covid19 update : 3 detained at ID&BG Hospital
The ID&BG Hospital on Wednesday admitted three suspects  of the coronavirus in the isolation ward set up for the Covid19 containment.State government has also put up thermal screening processes at the airport for screening the suspects.The first victim from Dum Dum showed signs after some of her friends travelled to Thailand.Though her friends are ok she was tested positive for the virus.The second påatient is from South 24 parganas who had travel history to affected regions while third is from Ranaghat.
India EU summit postponed Narendra Modi cancels Brussels trip
Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Mr Raveesh Kumar declared that Indian European Union summit, which PM was supposed to visit at Brussels later this month, has been postponed due to the COVID19 outbreak.Indian Embassies worldwide are on high alert and are working with the respective governments for transfer of Indian citizens who are locked in affected areas.
300 million students worldwide is missing school
According to Unicef data ,almost 300 million student worldwide are confined to their home and missing schools as the COVID19 continues affecting countries worldwide.More than dozen countries who had decided to close the schools to contain the virus can soon face workforce crisis as parents are bound to their homes due to the children.Audrey Azoulay ,Director General Unicef reported that the scale and size of the education disruption is unparalleled in human history and the right to education of every children being threatened.


 US Covid 19 toll reaches 11
With new cases detected from New York City and LA, US toll reached 11 due to the virus attack.With the first patient dead at California who recently traveled in a cruise ship, California Governor has declared a state pf emergency throughout the state.The elderly patient from Placer county with underlying health conditions was likely to be exposed to the virus on the cruise ship between San Francisco and Mexico last month

Chinese researchers says virus is mutating
Chinese researchers said they have enough proof to to show that the virus is mutating and now have at least two separate forms .The more virulent Type is named as L type which is responsible for the 70% infections worldwide other type known as the S type is  more weak and is responsible for the rest.Though L type was responsible for Wuhan infection it's severity dropped off in few weeks,researchers noted.The weak strain is supposed to have more longevity and may result in more long term problems.Though the researchers warned the reasoning and conclusion was based on very limited data and more study is needed for a final conclusion.
First death in Switzerland due to COVID 19
First victim of Covid19 in Switzerland was a 74 year old woman who already had other major problems.The lady who was admitted Lausanne city on Tuesday died overnight ,reported city police.58 infection has been reported from all over the country with appropriate measures in place.However authorities said the patient was already in the high risk category due to old age and other preexisting conditions and does not suggest severity of the infection.
 
General Insurance council says Coronavirus covered by Insurance 
The General Insurance Council , apex body of 44 non life insurers on Thursday said all the health policies covers endemics and  Coronavirus  falls into the umbrella of endemic with 52 countries affected worldwide with possible ramifications in India.IRDA on Wednesday instructed all the insurers to add Coronavirus to the endemic list and frame policies accordingly for speedy disbursal of claims.India right now has total 30 cases of infection with more being added everyday .Recently GOI also banned export of paracetamol and several other drugs to ensure there is no scarcity of drug in local markets.A group of ministers supposedly is monitoring the situation daily and adding to the preparedness .
