Delhi government will distribute ration to 421 schools from Tuesday to those who applied for ration card. The government has decided to give 5-5 kg of food grains to about one million such people and additional ration will be arranged if needed. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday appealed to Delhi MLAs, MPs and councilors to ensure that social distance is maintained at ration distribution centers.
Arvind Kejriwal said that about 7 lakh people are being served food in Delhi. Also, the process of giving 7.5 kg ration from government shops to about 71 lakh people holding ration cards is going on. In this episode, from Tuesday, ration will be given to 421 schools in Delhi, which do not have ration cards. According to Kejriwal, the Delhi government has made arrangements to give 5-5 kg of ration to about 10 lakh people under this head. Each person will be given four kg of wheat and one kg of rice free. Kejriwal claimed that more rations would be taken from the center if needed. There is full support from the Central Government in this matter. He appealed to all the MLAs, MPs, councilors that there should not be a crowd at the distribution site. If the crowd starts, the effect of the lockdown will be over.
