The planned expansion not only brings advanced eye care services to more cities but also creates employment opportunities and contributes to the overall healthcare infrastructure of the state.

In a noteworthy step to improve accessibility to eye care services, Dr Agarwal's Eye Hospitals, a leading healthcare network based in Chennai, is gearing up to invest Rs 225 crore in establishing 10 new centres in Mumbai and Pune over the next 12 to 18 months. This expansion is part of the company's broader vision to add at least 50 eye hospitals in Maharashtra.

A Visionary Expansion Plan: Chairman Dr Amar Agarwal shared the ambitious plan to invest in the healthcare infrastructure of Maharashtra, believing that the state has room for at least 50 more eye hospitals. The expansion is not limited to major cities; Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Hospitals is eyeing markets like Nagpur, Aurangabad, Jalna, Ahmednagar, Kolhapur, Akola, and Nanded for long-term growth.

Current Footprint and Growth Trajectory: The healthcare network entered Maharashtra in 2017, starting with Pune and swiftly expanding to key locations like Mumbai, Nashik, Pune, and Satara. Today, they operate 20 hospitals in the state. The recent addition of a facility in Chembur, Mumbai, marked a milestone as their 10th hospital in the city.

Optimistic Outlook for Maharashtra: Adil Agarwal, CEO of Dr Agarwal’s, expressed enthusiasm about the growth potential in Maharashtra. He stated, "Outside of our native state of Tamil Nadu, it is Maharashtra that we are most enthusiastic about. We have experienced astounding growth in this market." The company has witnessed a remarkable five-fold growth in Maharashtra over the last three financial years, expanding from 4 hospitals in FY20 to an impressive count of 20 hospitals today.

Future Projections: The company aims to continue its growth trajectory in the state, with plans to add 5 more hospitals in the next 6 months. This strategic expansion includes both greenfield projects and the transformation of existing facilities, ensuring a comprehensive approach to eye care accessibility.

Dr Agarwal’s Eye Hospitals' commitment to enhancing eye care facilities in Maharashtra reflects a broader dedication to the well-being of communities. The planned expansion not only brings advanced eye care services to more cities but also creates employment opportunities and contributes to the overall healthcare infrastructure of the state. As the company continues to set its sights on Maharashtra, the future looks brighter for those seeking quality eye care in the region.
