An Aligarh Muslim University's (AMU) Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College doctor was suspended by the district administration for alleged medical negligence after the first death due to COVID-19 at the hospital. 55-year-old Merajuddin who succumbed to novel Coronavirus on Sunday evening was admitted to the hospital as he was having breathing problems.
According to officials, he was put in the isolation ward on April 19, later placed on a ventilator. However, Merajuddin was tested positive forCOVID-19 the next day, which was not informed to the district administration. Aligarh District Magistrate Chandra Bhushan reportedly reveals that the district health department alleged that the hospital did not inform about the case on time, and the delay could lead to the exposure of several people.
