The CEO further added that he knew how tough it would be for families to accept a cut in "take-home pay" for the Band A and Band B bracket, which are the lower brackets in salary class.

Irrespective to whether one is directly infected by COVID-19 or not, no prize in guessing that it has started infecting the economy at large and all would have its effect. Social distancing mantra has cut down number of domestic and international flights and the carriers are propelled to restructure their budget—the obvious being the pay cut of their grounded employees. Thursday, Indigo Airlines declared a pay cut for all employees following Coronavirus scare.

CEO Ronojoy Dutta who accepted 25 per cent cut in salary reveals that senior vice presidents and above have agreed 20 per cent pay cut, while vice presidents, cockpit crew have accepted 15 per cent cut, and cabin crew will take 10 per cent cut. The CEO further added that he knew how tough it would be for families to accept a cut in "take-home pay" for the Band A and Band B bracket, which are the lower brackets in salary class.
