Madhya Pradesh leaves behind Maharashtra with 361 COVID-19 cases on Thursday – with Indore alone contribute 244 of them, were so far daily leading, Maharashtra daily count slumps and record 286 at the same time. MP’s count skyrocketed to 1,299 rising the State to the third place after Maharashtra and Delhi. With an overwhelming 842 count in Indore alone, MP has left behind Uttar Pradesh—a State with 80 times higher population. Even in death counts due to COVID-19, Indore alone claims 47 of the 63 in the State. Still Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is of view that this rise in number is ‘not a matter of concern’ and reasons that as there was no testing in the initial days the virus spread so rapidly. “Now that tests are taking place, patients are being detected and treated. There is a good sign that the maximum number of patients are responding to treatment and returning home after cure,” Chouhan says in a statement.
