Running and completing a Marathon is surely an achievement which anyone would be proud of, however there are inherent risks involved which one should not ignore at any cost. There are certain things you need to know before taking the plunge.
People with pre-existing health conditions face issues more than those with healthy bodies. For example, a person with existing lung disorder is prone to asthma attack. Someone with COPD, can have breathing problems due to lower oxygen levels and chill in the air.
If there is pre-existing heart condition, it aggravates the chances of heart attack. SO, while running, if you have pricking pain on the left side of the chest stop running immediately as it can aggravate to cardiac arrest. Dehydration can lead to heatstroke, so keep yourself hydrated throughout the race.
Have full body assessment done before you register for the marathon. Start seasoning the body as early 30-40 days in advance. Strengthen both upper and lower body. It’s not just that your legs need to be strong. When you run, you swing your arms. So your upper body ahs to be equally strong.
