UAE's leading private hospital group, Mediclinic Middle East, yesterday acquired Ayadi Home Healthcare (Ayadi). Mediclinic has seven hospitals and more than 20 outpatient clinics across Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. Ayadi is a home healthcare service provider with a presence in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.
Mediclinic has been expanding its portfolio by acquiring such ventures. Before Ayadi, they took 100% control of Bourn Hall Fertility Centre. Mediclinic had acquired Bourn Hall Fertility Centre following an initial acquisition of 30 per cent of the shares in December 2018.
The Bourn Hall Fertility Centre, founded by Professor Robert Edwards, holds the title of performing the world's first successful IVF procedure in 1978. Edwards later received the Nobel Prize in Medicine in 2010.
In May 2020, Mediclinic announced the acquisition of the outpatient facility City Centre Clinics Deira in Dubai and Me’aisem from Majid Al Futtaim, a leading shopping mall and retail pioneer spread across the Middle East and North Africa.
The acquisition of Ayadi allows Mediclinic to further its strategy of expansion along the continuum of care. It enables them to support and monitor its patients who have left the traditional hospital environment or for those who are unable/unwilling to visit a medical facility in person.
