What is Pradhan Mantri Poshan Shakti Nirman Yojana?

National Nutrition Month is being celebrated by the Ministry of Women and Child Development from 1st September to 30th September and under this, we are going to tell you information related to government schemes, nutrition, and health. In this article, we will understand the nutrition power-building scheme in detail.

Malnutrition is not completely eradicated from our society. Many diseases become fatal due to malnutrition. To overcome this, the government launched a new scheme last year, which is named Pradhan Mantri Poshan Shakti Nirman Yojana. Under this scheme, children of primary classes are given nutritious food.

Healthy food

The decision to start this scheme was taken last year in 2021. With the help of this scheme, 11.8 crore children of about 11.2 lakh schools in the country are given nutritious food for 5 years. Earlier, food was given in the schools under the Mid Day Meal Scheme which has been included in this Poshan Shakti Nirman Yojana. Under the scheme, children studying in school are given nutritious food instead of just normal food.

Why is this scheme beneficial for children?

Talking about the main benefits of this scheme, under this scheme, the children studying in government and aided schools are to be provided nutritious and healthy food.

Through this scheme, the problem of malnutrition will be overcome and children will not have diseases due to deficiency of essential nutrients.

For the better future of the children, their physical and mental development will be encouraged.

Even today, the people of the lower classes are not able to get a one-time meal properly. In such a situation, the children of those needy families will get the benefit of this scheme.

What is the nutrition plate-like?

There are many rules regarding the food that is given to the children, which the schools have to follow. Green vegetables, protein-rich lentils, rice, roti, salad, etc. are included on the plate.

Application is not needed for Pradhan Mantri Poshan Shakti Nirman Yojana

No application is required to get the benefit of Poshan Shakti Nirman Yojana for the child. The children get the benefit of this scheme in the school itself. No fee is charged under this scheme. The food is provided free of cost by the government. Meals will be given to the children of classes 1 to 8.

With the help of this scheme, children will get nutritious food and this scheme will play an important role in improving health.
