Twelve Japanese students from Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, who came to Jadavpur University on February 2, had to cut short their trip and return home on Monday night amid growing fears over the spread of coronavirus.

The students who were attending the course from February 2 onward said they have immensely enjoyed their stay and got a proper introduction to Bengali language and culture.
The students originally planned to leave on March 8th, which got cancelled due to the virus threat, eventually the students managed to leave on Monday night.
Joint registrar of JU, Sanjay Gopal Sarkar said, "We wish them good health and a safe journey.”
