4 Good and 4 Bad Habits for your Hair

Here are some habits that you need to stop to prevent hairloss. On the other hand, there are some habits you need to include in your daily routine.

Here is a list of habits that can either help you reduce your hair fall or would promote your hair’s health. 

Bad Habit - Shampooing the Wrong Way

Many of us fall into the habit of using shampoo once a week. This is wrong as dirt can build up and causes your scalp to lose hair. Similarly shampooing every day damages your hair.

Good Habit - Shampooing the Right Way

Check your lifestyle and create a hair wash routine for yourself. If you exercise often then you need to wash your hair regularly with a mild cleanser. If you travel outside more do the same. Otherwise, wash your hair depending on how oily your scalp gets.

Bad Habit - Eating Wrong

Eating junk food and fast food on a daily basis will rob your body of good nutrients. With nutrition deficiency, your body will start shedding the hair to conserve energy and resources.

Good Habit - Eating Right

Have a good diet that gives you protein, zinc, folate, iron and more. For this have eggs, green leafy vegetables, fruits, nuts and seeds. 

Bad Habit - Overstyling your hair

If you constantly expose your hair with chemical treatments and heat tools, it will lose its natural strength. Overusing such products can even lead your hair to break mid-shaft.

Good Habit - Embracing your natural hair

Irrespective of your hair type, every hair type is beautiful. Embrace your natural hair and let it shine. One can use serums to add shine or control frizz depending on your hair. 

Bad Habit - Tying your Hair too tight

We all have the habit of tying our hair into a ponytail. But what we don’t realise is that tying our hair can cause too much pressure on our hair roots. If this continues for a prolonged period then we face traction alopecia or hair loss due to too much force. 

Good Habit - Alternative Hair Updo

If you still want to tie your hair use hooks or silk scrunchies to tie your hair. Alternate your hairstyle to evenly distribute pressure on different ends of your hair.
