On the occasion of national safe motherhood day (April 11), Medicircle features some innovative startups that have made life easier for tech-savvy expectants or new mothers and their doctors and nurses who are equally tech-savvy in their approach towards dealing with today’s pregnant women.
Janitri founded by Arun Agarwal develops maternal healthcare devices for hospitals for women of all social backgrounds starting from the grassroots. The vision behind the startup is to tackle the most severe, widespread problems in maternal and child health. It also provides budding entrepreneurs resources and support to immerse in a problem, identify a need, and then develop a solution. Its innovative products include intrapartum monitoring mobile applications and labor monitoring solutions as well as Daksh, a patient monitoring dashboard that enables doctors to keep a track of their patients at all times.
Pregbuddy was founded by Sivareena Sarika. It’s a network dedicated to pregnant ladies. It can be termed as the platform for all those who are going through the crucial 9 months of their lives. There are two significant features of the site. One is “health feed” and the other is “live chat”. Health feed provides a host of expert or doctor-approved information to help women find the answer to all their dilemmas, doubts, and queries during pregnancy. Live chat enables women to connect to other ladies speaking the same vernacular language, experiencing the same problem or who are in the same trimester. Live classes are also organized for expectant mothers.
ILove9Months.com is cofounded by Ganga, Suma and Anjali. The vision behind this mobile app is to provided resources in terms of knowledge and awareness in nuclear family set-ups where if women do not have an elderly person to turn to, they can very well consult ILove9Months.com. The startup also has home care services in the form of “Sahodri”. Not only this there are lactation pods for corporate offices and breastfeeding pods for public places to help women out in breastfeeding their newborns in peace and quietude which resolves a vital infrastructural issue.
iMumz provides holistic practices for jubilant pregnancies. It won the Health and Wellness category of the “AatmaNirbhar Bharat App Innovation Challenge 2020.” It is co-founded by Dr. Jaideep Malhotra, Rajesh Jagasia, Ravi Teja, Akondi, and Mayur Dhurpate. The app is designed on the vision that Along with physical health, your mental framework and emotional state have a deep impact on the baby's development. The app provides personalized recommendations for a healthy lifestyle during pregnancy right from mindfulness, relaxing therapy, conscious breathing, brain boosters, physical activity to creativity so that the child inside the womb gets nurtured well.
