On Monday, 50 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded in the South Indian State of Tamil Nadu, ringing the register with a total count of 621 when authorities have apparently developed improved containment and contact-tracing measures. The death toll has also increased to 6 in the southern State, after a 57-year-old woman admitted late Sunday to a public-run hospital dies on Monday morning. The test result shows she was infected with the virus. Beela Rajesh, State health secretary reveals that 11 lakh residence are being monitored and some 40 lakh people are screened. Corporation workers are deployed to go door-to-door and collect information about their health and if they have any recent travel history. All but two out of these 50 cases had travelled to Delhi for the Tablighi Jamaat conference.
