AIR correspondent reports, the number of people tested for the SARSCoV2 virus in Tamil Nadu have reached more than 93.28 lakh, all using the RT-PCR kits.
71 thousand people were tested on a single day on Monday, out of whom, 2708 people were confirmed with the infection.
The per-day infection number is almost close to the figure of June 24th.
But the difference is that, on June 24th, only about 30-thousand people were tested.
The number of tests is crucial in assessing the spread of the virus, as being said by medical experts.
The state has 200 laboratories to carry out the tests, including a private lab approved on Monday in Chennai.
66 of the labs are in government hospitals, where the tests are being done freely.
The state health department has warned the private labs of severe actions if the people are charged more fee than what is approved.
