Bengaluru, 28 September 2026: Routine heart-health checks can help identify cardiovascular risk factors that may have no obvious symptoms. Yet, for auto drivers balancing long working hours and daily earning commitments, finding time for preventive care can be difficult. Addressing this need, Apollo Hospitals, Bannerghatta Road, organised a complimentary cardiac screening camp in association with the Auto Rickshaw Drivers Union (ARDU), ahead of World Heart Day.

The community gratitude initiative provided 100 auto drivers with blood pressure and random blood sugar checks, a lipid profile, ECG and a cardiology consultation.

Cardiologists at Apollo Hospitals, Bannerghatta Road, stressed that feeling healthy is not the same as being free of cardiac risk. For auto drivers whose long working hours can push health checks down the priority list, screening offers a chance to detect silent risk factors, such as high blood pressure and abnormal cholesterol before complications develop.
