Bollywood stars who experienced mental illness

Sadness, feeling down and having a loss of interest or pleasure in daily activities are familiar feelings for all of us. But if they persist and affect our lives substantially, the issue may be depression.

Deepika Padukone discloses her mental health issues and depression. Just because someone is grinning doesn't mean they are without any problems. Celebrities have problems and weaknesses just like regular people do. You can lead a prosperous life, a happy family life, and success. But that does not mean you do not suffer. These celebrities have frequently discussed their illness in public.

According to WHO estimates, there was an 18% increase or an additional 300 million people in those suffering from depression between 2005 and 2015. You will understand that it's a huge number in and of itself. All of us are impacted, whether slightly or significantly, by mental health issues.

Amitabh Bachchan

Amitabh Bachchan, a renowned actor, has also struggled with depression. The actor also transitioned to producing in 1996 through his business ABCL. Amitabh lost all of his money and fell into a deep depression as a result of his films' consecutive box office failures. The superstar eventually gained control of himself, revived his acting career, and went on to become one of the most illustrious actors of all time.

Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan suffered from depression ailment post his shoulder surgery in 2010. This is what he said after that battle was over. The actor had said, “Due to the shoulder injury and the suffering I had got into a depression mode but now I am out of it. I feel happy and boosted with energy.” King Khan had also said, “I feel so much healthy and refreshed from within.”

Randeep Hooda

Randeep Hooda acknowledged that he struggled with depression while filming "Highway" and his upcoming film, "Sarbjit." For 'Sarbjit', the actor had to shed around 18 kg in 28 days. Because of the involvement needed for the film, "Sarbjit," there was a significant hangover. Everything lingers. It has happened before as well. After 'Highway’, I was depressed for a long time. I had to keep reminding myself that I'm not a menial taxi driver and that's not how my life works. Nobody loves me as much as the other characters in the movie do. Such experiences are occasionally necessary.

Anushka Sharma

The actress revealed her condition and had the courage to admit, "I have anxiety." I'm treating my anxiety. I'm on medication for my anxiety. How come I'm saying this? because it is an entirely normal occurrence. It's a biological problem. There have been depressive episodes in my family. More and more people should talk openly about it. There is nothing to be ashamed of or keep hidden about it. Would you visit a doctor if you were experiencing persistent stomach pain? It’s that simple. To remove any stigma associated with this and to inform people about it, I want to make it my mission.

Deepika Padukone

Deepika Padukone made her Bollywood debut in 2007 with Om Shanti Om opposite Shah Rukh Khan, and over the years, she has become one of the most successful actresses in Bollywood. At a time when she was establishing her credentials as one of Bollywood's most sought-after actresses back in 2015, Queen Dee came forward and spoke about her battle with clinical depression and how she overcame it.

Ranveer Singh

The 'Padmaavat' actor was reportedly depressed. Before anyone could intervene, Ranveer's friend shot himself after posting a status on Facebook about wanting to die by suicide. It had a big impact on Ranveer, who has been in a lot of pain ever since. "Ranveer doesn't like to show his emotions in public, but people close to him, particularly Deepika, knew that this tragedy had hit him hard," said a source close to Ranveer. She saw him grapple with grief and guilt.  He even saw a therapist for a while. Deepika was his silent supporter at the time, and she saw firsthand how severe depression could be. "
