The country's COVID-19 recovery rate has reached 96.39 percent. During the last 24 hours, more than 20 thousand COVID patients have recovered. The total number of recoveries has gone up to over one crore of 37 thousand.

Health Ministry said the Covid-19 recovery rate of India is amongst the highest in the world, it is 89.36 percent in Brazil. In Russia it is 81.17 percent, Italy 70.68 percent, the USA 59.59 percent and the UK is 47.44 percent. The actual caseload currently comprises only 2.16 percent of the total positive cases. Presently, the total number of active cases in the country is around two lakh 25 thousand.

 
During the past 24 hours, 18 thousand 139 new cases were reported taking the total number of positive cases in the country to over one crore of four lakh. The Ministry said, currently, India’s Case Fatality Rate is at 1.45 percent, which is one of the lowest globally. During the last 24 hours, 234 deaths were reported taking the toll to one lakh 50 thousand 570.
 
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research, more than nine lakh 35 thousand tests were conducted during the last 24 hours. The total number of samples tested so far has reached 17 crores 93 lakh.
