As per Delhi government daily number of fresh cases of came down to 803 — the first time in 126 days that the count has dipped below 1,000 — on Monday.
The number of active cases also dropped below 10,000 for the first time in 138 days, since 9,897 infections were reported on August 4. As many as 62,440 tests were conducted on Sunday, as reported on Monday, in comparison to the average of 82,490 tests a day over the last week. With the government scaling up testing since December beginning, the positivity rate in Delhi has remained below 2% for seven consecutive days and below 5% for 19 days, as per the data shared by the Delhi government.
Meanwhile, India's COVID-19 recovery rate has reached to 95.65 per cent. During the last 24 hours, more than 30000 COVID patients have recovered. Health Ministry said the total number of recoveries has gone up to over 96 lakh 36 thousand.
The actual caseload currently comprises only 2.90 per cent of the total positive cases. Presently, the total number of active cases in the country is around 2,92000.
During the past 24 hours, 19,556 new cases were reported taking the total number of positive cases in the country to over one crore 75000. The Ministry said, that effective implementation of the strategic and graded Test, Track and Treat approach has led to higher recoveries and lower fatality.
Currently, India’s Case Fatality Rate is at 1.45 per cent, which is one of the lowest globally. During the last 24 hours, 301 deaths were reported taking the toll to 1,46111.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research, more than 10,72000 tests were conducted during the last 24 hours. The total number of samples tested so far has reached 16 crores 31 lakh.
