Recently seeds have been added to the category of nutritious superfoods. The addition is owing to the fact that they possess several nutritional benefits. They are small and compact. They are full of nutrients having nutritive value. There are several seeds that you should have with your daily food. They benefit you in various ways. Here is the list of those seeds and the ways by which you can easily incorporate them into your daily food.

Flax Seeds – Flax Seeds are rich in potassium, protein, and fiber. Flaxseeds help in lowering blood pressure. As per a recent study, flaxseeds may lower the risk of developing tumors in women having the initial-stage of breast cancer. Thus, they prevent the risk of developing cancer. This property of preventing the development of cancer can be due to the presence of lignans. They resemble the female sex hormone estrogen, phytoestrogen.

Pumpkin seeds – These are most popular in Indian households. They possess a high amount of phosphorus, monounsaturated fatty acids, and omega-6 fatty acids. Pumpkin seeds are also high in phytosterol, a plant-based chemical that helps in reducing blood cholesterol.

Chia seeds – It has important antioxidant polyphenols. It can lower the body’s blood sugar. It is a great plant-based source of alpha-linolenic acid or omega-3 fats. It also lowers the risk of heart disease.

Hemp seeds – They are a great source of vegetarian protein. They also contain several other rich nutrients and abundant fiber. They are good for improving heart and brain health, reducing stress, and boosting immunity. Hemp seeds contain healthy essential fatty acids. Eat them in moderation to meet your fat requirement. 

Sesame seeds – They are a good source of antioxidants, fiber, minerals, B vitamins, proteins, and healthy fats. Daily intake of its substantial portion may aid in controlling blood sugar, lowering cholesterol, and minimizing arthritis pain.

Sunflower seeds – The seeds contain high levels of protein, vitamin B, and selenium. It boosts energy levels, supports the immune system, and reduces inflammation. The anti-inflammatory property comes from the presence of vitamin E and flavonoids.
