Balasana (Child Pose) Janushirasana (Head-to-Knee Forward Bend) Virasana (Hero Pose)

You will get the benefits of doing butterfly asana mentioned above only if you practice butterfly posture properly. Be sure to also know the correct way of practicing butterfly posture.

First of all, sit comfortably on the yoga mat or mat. Straighten both your legs in front and keep your waist straight. Bend both your knees and bring both legs towards your pelvic area. Joining the fingers of both your hands together, hold both your feet tightly. Bring both your ankles as close to the genital as you can. Press both your thighs down towards the floor. Now slowly lower both your thighs up, as a butterfly flaps its wings. Meanwhile, your spine should be absolutely straight. You have to feel the stretch around the inner part of the thighs. Finally, Exhale

The butterfly yoga pose is one of the best yoga postures to be done while sitting. In this asana, bending the legs and knees and holding the feet tightly with the hands, one has to move like the wings of a butterfly. This asana helps in strengthening the muscles of the legs and thighs.

Some people misunderstand the butterfly posture as "baddha konasana", but there are slight differences between the two. In Baddha Konasana, the legs are not moved, but an attempt is made to bring the head down towards the ground.

One of the specialties of Butterfly Pose is that it is a simple yoga posture and can be done by women, children, young and old people of all ages. This is especially a great yoga posture for women.
