After a 24-year-old staff journalist tests positive for Coronavirus, 26 employees of the Tamil news channel in Chennai comes under the bout of COVID-19 on Tuesday. All the 26 members who are tested positive are part of the desk and reporting department of the regional news channel.

Reportedly, 94 persons were subjected to Reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) tests and they were informed that the results due in 48 hours. Officials trying finding out the source are set to prove that  if the sub-editor who was first detected with the disease  could have got transmitted from his father a police sub-inspector, who being on the field duty may have been a carrier of the infection.

Apparently, the sub-editor had given his sample for test on Wednesday, as his father took the entire family for testing.
