Death toll soars to 2,649 with 100 fatalities recorded in the last 24 hours

India's COVID-19 count crossed the grim milestone of 80,000 today because the states added 3,967 fresh cases in the last 24 hours. Delhi records the largest spike in daily COVID-19 count. As many as 472 people tested positive for the virus within the capital on Thursday. The entire number of coronavirus cases within the country increased to 81,970, consistent with the ministry of health and family welfare.

India’s death toll due to COVID-19 soars to 2,649 with 100 loss of life recorded in the last 24 hours when a minimum of 54 deaths was recorded in Maharashtra on Thursday, taking the price in the State to over 1,000.

There were 51,401 active coronavirus patients within the country. Nearly 33% of total Coronavirus cases, over 27,920 people, are recovered from the disease.

Maharashtra witnessed an enormous spike in COVID-19 count because the state detected over 1,600 fresh cases on Thursday. Mumbai alone reported over 14,000 coronavirus cases. Maharashtra was the sole state within the country to report over 25,000 COVID-19 cases. Coronavirus infected 27,524 people in the state.

Tamil Nadu overtook Gujarat because of the state with the second-highest count of COVID-19 cases. For the primary time during a week, Tamil Nadu registered but 500 coronavirus cases on Thursday. the entire number of coronavirus cases within the state stood at 9,674.

Delhi crosses 8,000-mark, with 500 cases on a single day. The capital registered nine fresh deaths on Thursday. The fatalities in Delhi stood at 115. Delhi recorded 8,470 COVID-19 cases.

Goa, which has not reported one coronavirus case since May Day, confirmed seven new COVID-19 cases on Thursday. Out of the seven infected, five belong to one family.

The government on Thursday unveiled a ₹2.3 trillion cheap loans programme for farmers to prop the agricultural economy. Minister of finance Nirmala Sitharaman offered free foodgrains and affordable housing to migrant workers who are stranded in cities. India entered the ultimate week of the third phase of nationwide lockdown. The Centre implemented pan India lockdown on Annunciation to mitigate the spread of the virus within the country.

More than 4.4 million cases of COVID-19 were recorded worldwide, including a minimum of 302,000 deaths. The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Brazil rose to a minimum of 202,918, consistent with the country’s health ministry.
