Kerala witnessed a slight dip in COVID figures as it confirms 13,984 new positive cases on Monday. The test positivity rate also decreased to 10.93 per cent. Over one lakh 27,000 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
One hundred and eighteen deaths were also confirmed due to COVID today taking the total death toll to 16,955. Bringing respite, 15,923 people recovered from the Corona virus infection. At present, a total of one lakh 65,322 people are undergoing COVID treatment in the state.
Meanwhile, the Central team visited Thiruvananthapuram, Kannur and Kasaragod districts today and took stock of the COVID situation in the regions. The team of health experts led by Dr Sujeet Singh, Director, National Centre for Disease Control recommended that in the coming days stringent restrictions backed by scientific measures need to be put in place in order to curb the escalating TPR figures in various parts of the state where the infection is most prevalent.
