In Maharashtra, all arrangements have been made for Covid 19 vaccination dry run today. State Health Minister, Rajesh Tope said that the dry run will be conducted at three healthcare centres in each district and one centre in municipal corporation limits. The Minister said the aim of the dry run is to check the preparedness of the mechanism rolled out for the vaccination exercise.
He said, cold storage facilities and supply chains are being set up in the State, which is ready to launch the mass vaccination drive. He said the mock drill will be helpful for the state to see whether the system developed for mass vaccination is working properly or not.
Health Minister, Rajesh Tope during a video conference with Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan demanded Centre make arrangements to provide the vaccine free of cost to the needy people. He said the data of 8 lakh health workers in Maharashtra, including those employed in government and private sectors, is already uploaded on CO-WIN application developed for mass vaccination.
The Central and Maharashtra governments have already decided to administer vaccines free of cost to health and frontline workers in the first phase. On the availability of COVID-19 vaccine,
Tope said the Centre might inform the state government in the next 7 days about the large scale availability of the dosages.
